Sinead O'Connor

The best thing the papal visit has done for me is to alert me to this woman who is now on my personal list for beatification! There was an interview with her on BBC 2 between the various appearances of the pope and she spoke so eloquently she even silenced the interviewer!

I have always been very fond of Sinead too, but I part company with you about "our Jane"
I listened to the audio version of Persuasion on the way to and from the Dales, and found her prose as ever, a joy.
For me she describes both male and female characters with the same wit and spot on observation of her own experience, and if I flinch sometimes it is usually because she is reminding me of my own foibles.

I think I'm the only person I know who dosn't like Jane Austen. My ex adores her books. It's obviously a condition for which I should seek psychiatric help!
